New coffeehouse coming to south Nashville

By Dave Carew

A new coffeehouse aspiring to be “where everybody knows your name” is coming to Lenox Village in south Nashville. Calling itself “Grounds 4 Inspiration,” the coffeehouse will open on Saturday, December 1 as part of the Lenox Village Open House festivities.

In an exclusive interview with Underground Nashville, owner Michele Robinette, who is originally from Boston, stressed that she wants Grounds 4 Inspiration to have the “Cheers” vibe (“where everybody knows your name”), because people are looking for that and they don’t always get it from Starbucks or other corporate-chain houses.

“I can go into the same Starbucks five days in a row, yet they still don’t know my name or who I am. I want Grounds 4 Inspiration to be completely different from that—where you enjoy a comfortable, neighborly setting, in a place where people remember you, where there is good karma,” said Ms. Robinette.

Grounds 4 Inspiration will be open seven days a week, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. It will start off by offering great Vienna Coffee from Maryville, Tennessee, plus in-store baked goods, local bakery items, and quick “grab n’ go” breakfast fare such as fresh biscuits, bagels, oatmeal, muffins, and donuts. There also will be gluten-free and sugar-free options.

The coffeehouse’s “support your local community” philosophy also will pertain to the gift items available at Grounds 4 Inspiration.

“We’ll be offering shelf space to local painters, jewelry makers, and others, and hope to also eventually offer live music,” said Ms. Robinette.

Sounds like a great plan to us.  And don’t be surprised if you see us standing in line for great coffee and fresh biscuits on December 1.
