Virtual Music Conference & Expo coming from Indie Connect

by Dave Carew

One of the greatest heroes in today’s indie-music movement is Vinny Ribas, CEO of Indie Connect. Hundreds of singer-songwriters, music execs, and others in this town have been helped by Vinny and his fantastic indie-musicians networking and empowerment organization. Vinny is genuinely making the world a brighter, more opportunity-rich place for untold numbers of musicians and music pros.

That’s why we were so excited to here about Indie Connect’s Virtual Music Conference & Expo, the world’s first music conference, trade show, and artist showcase to be presented completely online.

To be held from January 15 – 17, 2013, the event is the perfect answer to the question, “How can I attend a life-changing, incredibly empowering music conference . . . without leaving my computer?”

Virtual Music Conference & Expo will consist of three full days of high-level international networking, exhibits by music-related businesses worldwide, artists and record labels showcasing their acts and music, and more than 40 presentations by music industry experts on how to succeed as an indie musician.

Asked by Underground Nashville what he believes will be the most valuable aspects of the online conference, Vinny Ribas focused on the problems it will help solve for musicians and execs:

“Expensive airfares, wallet-busting hotel rates, and days away from home all make it difficult—if not impossible—for many artists or music-related businesses to attend or participate in a major music conference,” Vinny said. “But modern technology has now made it possible for us to deliver an entire interactive conference online to any artist or business worldwide . . . at a tiny fraction of the cost of attending a land-based one.”

Sounds like an excellent value to us. And having participated in previous Indie Connect events, we’re sure it will be. If you’re serious about your career as an indie musician or executive, you won’t want to miss this life-changing conference.
