Gram Parsons biographer to sign copies of new book at Country Music Hall of Fame

by Dave Carew

This will be a busy week in Nashville for Bob Kealing, author of the acclaimed new book Calling Me Home: Gram Parsons and the Roots of Country Rock. On Friday night, Mr. Kealing will be signing copies of his book at Gram InterNational, the big Gram Parsons concert coming to Douglas Corner. Then, the following day, Mr. Kealing gets out the pen again, to sign copies of Calling Me Home at the Country Music Hall of Fame museum store. That signing will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

In his new book, Mr. Kealing traces the entire arc of Gram Parsons’ musically formative years, fully exploring Gram’s legacy and musical/cultural contribution. The book offers new information that even GP’s most ardent fans will find fresh and revealing.

Bob Kealing, an Edward R. Murrow and three-time Emmy Award-winning reporter for NBC’s WESHTV in Orlando, Florida, is also the author of Kerouac in Florida and Tupperware Unsealed.

Editor’s Note: “Underground Nashville” covers artists, authors, musicians, poets, political figures, and other compelling people and happenings not typically covered by the mainstream Nashville media. It also presents reflections and commentary from an underground/indie perspective, offering “thoughts from the shadows of a great American city.”
